I began my artistic career with technical drawings, portraits, and space design/urban sketches. Tired of drawing reality, I moved on to a personal and subjective style, working with color. Today, I represent my vision of the world, through my synesthesia and my sense of humor.
My work lies somewhere between comics, illustration, and conceptual art. I explore themes such as mental health, identity, feminism, and self-care. I share my vulnerabilities and doubts in a mostly sarcastic and sometimes positive way.
Before studying Clinical Psychology, I studied Design for one year and began my artistic career. Today, I write and create visual and artistic content about Psychology. I created a series of zines called Psycho Club, in which I explore different topics related to mental health.

Julia da Costa is a visual artist and illustrator with a passion for cartoons, comics and design. Moreover, through her sarcastic sense of humor, she talks through her art about mental health, feminism, women, men. Furthermore, she expresses her emotions and feelings through her work. In addition, her genuine graphic style and touch of modernity talks to people, and e.g. consequently make the public feel represented and seen. Finally, she permanently seeks to adapt and represent what people think as long as the themes are popular and speak to an entire generation. Basically, and consequently she tries to communicate with others through her art despite the distance.
